Data Entry Problem

Most Yardi data entry tickets resolve through a quick self-check or a workaround before escalation is needed.
- Check the resident's opt-in status first — if you cannot send CRM IQ text messages, confirm the resident has opted in via their resident portal. Replying "YES" to a text number alone is not sufficient.
- Shorten the Category field in CRM IQ — if charges are failing to post, the Category tab entry likely has too many characters. Move the longer description to the Notes section instead.
- Regenerate or reset the relevant document/calculator — for issues like missing permit numbers on addendums or incorrect move-in charges, try regenerating the document or resetting the move-in calculator in Voyager before escalating.
- For imported renters insurance policies that cannot be edited, create a new policy entry manually and mark it as satisfying move-in requirements — imported policies are not editable in Yardi.
- For duplicate prospect or roommate profiles, contact CRM IQ Live Agent directly — they can merge accounts and clean up duplicate RentCafe profiles without a separate support ticket.
- Correct move-out cost calculations by ensuring the resident's lease status is set properly (e.g., MTM, then Notice) before generating the NTV so all applicable fees prorate correctly. (admin only) If fees are missing from the charge table entirely, contact the support team to have them added.
If none of these solve it, file a ticket and include: the specific Yardi screen or workflow where the error occurs, the exact error message or unexpected value displayed, whether the issue affects multiple records or just one, and any steps already attempted (including Live Agent). Screenshots are strongly encouraged.
